My take and a hopeful, practical path forward
I see a point to nudging people toward other choices. The risk is hurting people who have fewer options. The best route is clear, steady, and honest about costs and gains. The city should publish numbers, share lessons, and adapt quickly when things go wrong. If you live near the core, start checking transit routes and price impacts now. If you run a small business, map out delivery routes and ask customers for flexibility. Citizens should show up to town halls, ask questions, and demand updates. Change takes time, but small steps add up. This plan could misfire, but it can also push us to design a city where moving around feels simpler, safer, and fairer for everyone.
